This is what
I can do for you
I am a Master of Laws and I am a specialized legal professional in the field of criminal law, administrative law and on the intersection of these areas of law. Whether you are faced with a legal issue as a private individual, or if you want to deliberate with me as a fellow legal professional; I’d be happy to help you.
Thanks to my extensive international network, I can also advise you if you have a legal problem abroad.
In what legal issue can I be of assistance?
My specialty is criminal law. Criminal law is about criminal offences but can also be about preventing them. On this subject I get all kinds of questions. How long does a criminal offense remain on the judicial documentation and what does a criminal offense mean for a Certificate of Good Conduct? What are the best steps to take after faults that could have criminal consequences? Could prosecution possibly be prevented? Matters that require an expert answer. That is exactly where I can help and give advice.
I usually help people who have problems regarding criminal law, in the Netherlands or abroad. A situation outside of the Netherlands can be complex for a Dutch resident, because local laws and regulations are often different from the Dutch laws. That is why my advice often starts with explaining the laws and regulations that matter in that specific situation. And if necessary, I can put you in touch with a legal professional or lawyer on site who can help you and I then act as an intermediary.
In my practice I also deal with administrative law. That can be all kinds of different issues. A conflict may have arisen with the government, for example about a traffic violation or a Declaration of Good Conduct. But it could also be about refusing a permit. In cases where administrative law and criminal law intersect, I provide advice on request.
This is how I work
Good advice starts with good listening. Especially in the case of a legal problem, as a small nuance can make a big difference. By asking the right questions at the right time, I get to the heart of the problem. In this way we get on the right track to the best possible solution.
Honesty and clarity are important to me. That means, for example, that I say how things are and that I share with you what is and what is not achievable or feasible. I will never say that everything will be fine. Going back on my word is something I don’t like to do. I prefer to say at the end: Well, we arranged that nicely.
For whom?
I provide legal advice to anyone who wants clarity quickly about a situation that has to do with criminal or administrative law. This can concern Dutch law, but I also work with partners in, for example, Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Spain.
